Friends

This past week has been tough. My great grandfather passed away as I and his very large family stood by his side. I will not share excessive details about what a great life he lived. He was a humble man and he knew it was God that gave him strength each day and made him the man he was. He wouldn't want me to brag on him and his even 97 years of life. That's right. He lived a perfect 97 years. God took him home on his birthday. He was truly given the best birthday gift a man of God could ever think to ask for. While Grandma is happy for him, as well as the 40+ children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, we will all miss him very much and find it hard when we are unable to seek his wisdom for our problems. But whenever God closes a door, he always opens a window. No man will ever be able to fill Grandpa's shoes so let us look around for the next best and continue our life's journey from there until we come to the final hour as Grandpa did. I only ask that I have as much assurance of where I am going as Grandpa did.

But as always, God will prove to you that He still cares for you and is there for you. Occasionally, if you are very blessed, he sends out these care packages called Friends. The people he uses may sometimes be surprising or, in the beginning, seem impossible to use. But rest assured, He sends the right one. Every time. Never early. Never late. But right on time. You can't ask for more. Except to have that pleasure doubled...

Thank you Lord, for your blessings on me!
